After 30 years as a broadcast journalist, most recently at NBC12 in Richmond, Virginia, Gene Lepley has embarked on a new career of communications consulting. 

During his 14 years at NBC12, Gene won several journalism awards – including an Edward R. Murrow award for “Best TV Newscast” from the Radio and Television News Directors Association and several awards for reporting from the Associated Press.  He was also recognized by the A-P with two “Best TV News Anchor in Virginia” awards – in 2007 and 2008.

Now, as President of The Lepley Group, Gene counts among his clients The Christian Children’s Fund and Good Samaritan Ministries.

Gene once worked as a paramedic, serving for several years as Paramedic Coordinator for Dr. Peter Safar, the inventor of CPR and one of the pioneers of pre-hospital care.

Gene has been married to his wife, Pamela, for 25 years.  They have two children; Gene, an intelligence analyst for the Department of Defense, and Sarah, a senior broadcast journalism major at Penn State University.
